Waterlogged New Forest.
Our family amble across Longslade Bottom to Longslade Heath yesterday was a pretty wet affair. Conscious of the misery that widespread flooding and storm chaos has caused country-wide, I felt a sneaking guilt as I soaked in the beauty of the New Forest in its saturated state. I think that the bedraggled New Forest Ponies would have been telling a different story though, ignoring, as they were, the stunning rainbow, sunset and reflective flood plains as they sought some shelter for the night.
